Dynamical excitation processes and correlations of three-body two-dimensional mixtures

A scheme is proposed to dynamically excite distinct eigenstate superpositions in three-body Bose-Fermi mixtures confined a two-dimensional harmonic trap. The system initialized non-interacting state with variable spatial extent, and the scattering lengths are subsequently quenched. For widths smaller than oscillator length, superposition of trimers atom-dimers attained, otherwise trap states predominantly populated. Accordingly, Tan contacts evince build-up short range two- correlations course evolution. larger extent initial leads reduction few-body correlations, endowed however characteristic peaks at positions avoided-crossings energy spectra, thereby signalling participation atom-dimers. Our results expose ways selectively trimers, trapped characterized by substantial likely be accessible within current experiments.
